If so, we are offering a challenging and fun student job position within Product Supply API Manufacturing Development. Join us!

The position
We are looking for student who is motivated by and enjoys conceptual thinking, process design and solving (complex) problems to support decision making.

You will be exploring a new idea that we’re seeking to develop into a concept and hopefully a method. Main tasks will vary and will be applied to challenges tackled by Manufacturing Development utilizing multiscale modelling. The idea is how we can learn from existing process designs, identify hotspots that can be analysed to generate ideas for improvement-optimization and provide feedback within the design value chain.

Since the nature of the job is student based, we will try and ensure that you also can network within the company and develop and learn how to apply R&D concepts to real-world, industrial problems. Additionally, you will gain experience in working within a development and manufacturing environment, and experience how data can be utilized with the current trend of industry 4.0.

Qualifications
You are currently enrolled in an MSc Degree within a Danish University with the following developing qualifications:

  • Studying within the field of Chemical and/or Process Engineering
  • Focus area of studies: process design and/or process optimization
  • Understanding of modelling & simulation programs (or willing to learn), e.g., PROII, DYNSIM, DWSIM, INOSIM, SuperPro etc.
  • Keen for analysing data and industrial 4.0

We require that you attach your transcripts, a cover letter, and a curriculum vitae in English when applying.

About the department
As part of Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply organization, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients is responsible for manufacturing all API for Novo Nordisk’s products. You will be assigned to Manufacturing Development (MDev), a cross-functional area that works at the interface between R&D and full-scale manufacturing with a strategic focus on technology transfer, scale-up and process improvement-optimization. Working with advanced model-based approaches for designing and understanding Bioprocesses of the Future in MDev Bioprocess Improvement-Optimization (MDev BIO), with a recently established and growing group of 5 highly skilled colleagues plus 6 MSc students.

In MDev BIO we have a problem-solving mindset where we work in a dynamic environment to convert engineering challenges into opportunities. If you’re curious as to how we tackle these challenges and would like some examples, then don’t hesitate to continue reading.

We tackle these challenges through Multiscale Modelling where we have activities in Applied Mathematical Modelling, Mechanistic Modelling, Process Control Modelling, Capacity Modelling and Supply Chain Optimization Modelling. Briefly, we aim to navigate a complex design and decision space for each of the scales on the multiscale. As our new colleague you will be joining us in the scale of Mechanistic Modelling where we focus on process understanding and optimization.

Working at Novo Nordisk
Together we drive change. At Novo Nordisk, we don’t wait for change. We drive it. We’re a dynamic company in an even more dynamic industry, and we know that what got us to where we are today is not necessarily what will make us successful in the future.

We embrace the spirit of experimentation, striving for excellence without fixating on perfection. We never shy away from opportunities to develop, we seize them. From research and development, through to manufacturing, marketing, and sales – we’re all working to move the needle on patient care.
