Seeking Student Research Assistants in Data Science

The Centre of Quantum Mathematics at SDU is currently seeking highly skilled and motivated students in data science or related fields to support various research activities in our Quantum Computing Initiatives. As a student research assistant, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting complex datasets, collaborating with world-leading experts in quantum science, and contributing to the development of quantum technologies for real-life applications. This is an excellent opportunity for undergraduate or master's level candidates to apply their analytical and programming expertise in a practical setting and be exposed to the cutting-edge advancements in quantum computing.

Research area
We are looking for multiple student research assistants who can help with us on a variety of data-related projects such as:
●   Clinical research
●   Trading and finance
●   Humanities
●   Optimization

Your responsibilities
●   Perform data analysis using statistical tools or machine learning methods
●   Develop visualisations and reports to communicate findings effectively
●   Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems by developing computer programming codes. 

Hours and Pay Rate
A Student Research Assistant position is between 10-14 hours per week and can be made full-time during June, July and August. The hourly pay rate will be set in accordance with the SDU HR guidelines. We ensure you as a student get the flexibility that allows you to prioritise your exams and assignments as needed.

Qualifications
●   You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science)
●   Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning methods
●   Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Matlab, R or C++
●   Ability to work independently and as part of a team
●   Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
●   Knowledge in quantum computing is a plus but not required.

If you are not an EU-citizen, a Danish residence card with permission to work is required.
