Are you looking for an exciting hands-on learning opportunity to supplement your studies? Join us as an Intern in Novo Nordisk and get an opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues from many different nationalities within various fields. Depending on your interests and the business needs of our organisational unit, the possibility for a Master’s thesis collaboration following (or as part of) your internship exists.

About the department

  •     General Management and Administration
  •     Bagsværd

Strategic Sourcing is the central sourcing unit in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division, responsible for the medium and long term strategic sourcing activities, which involves global identification and strategic management of suppliers for Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production sites. You will be part of Business Support, where we drive cross unit projects and contribute with value adding quality, financial, social/environmental, commercial and market intelligence support to the other 6 departments in Strategic Sourcing, as well as define various standards and processes, which are used in sourcing activities across Novo Nordisk's worldwide Product Supply division.

You will enter a thorough, yet fast paced and ambitious environment, where we collaborate closely with stakeholders inside and outside Strategic Sourcing. You will work out of Bagsværd, where 12 competent colleagues in the Business Support team look forward to welcoming you.

The position

One of our current top priorities is to improve core processes by driving data management excellence across our unit. You will take part in our digitalisation journey by collecting, structuring and applying data to optimise the way we work. You will work with data both on a practical and strategic level and be engaged in visual communication to both end users and management. In order to ensure optimal application and visualisation of data, you will work closely together with a wide variety of stakeholders ranging from peers to management, which will challenge (and ultimately enhance) your change management skills. You will likely be working with software/ systems like Excel, SAP, Coupa, Alteryx and Tableau.

You can anticipate varied working days with many different tasks and numerous stakeholders and get a broad insight into the work of a Strategic Sourcing function.

  •     Internship period: 5-12 months
  •     Working hours: 37 hours a week, with the possibility of variation over the course of the internship
  •     Start date: Preferably mid-August 2020
  •     Internships are remunerated, if your educational track allows
  •     A Danish full time work permit is required

Qualifications

You are currently studying for your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics or similar. In any case, you have excellent analytical and problem solving skills and are comfortable working with large amounts of data. As a foundation for this, you are an advanced user of Microsoft Excel and you have attention to details and can structure and communicate complex data. Experience with Alteryx and Tableau is not a requirement, but it is a plus. If you are used to problem solving and creating compelling power point presentations (e.g. in the form of case competition participation) this will be considered an advantage.

As a person you should have a high level of drive and a willingness to take responsibility for your own learning. This should be seen in your strong work ethics and proactive drive both professionally and personally. In addition, you thrive in a busy work environment and bring a good sense of humour to your work even when the pressure is on. Finally, good cooperation and communication skills are essential as well as a profound interest in working in a global, complex and dynamic organisation. As a prerequisite for this, solid English language skills (both in speech and in writing) are required.
