Business & Strategy Intern
Exceed Health specializes in the development of medical devices and mobile applications with a focus on treating male infertility and introduced a device that allows men to test their semen quality from the comfort of their homes.
The first gen device can detect sperm concentration and motility by simply inserting a sample holder that contains the sample and then putting a smartphone on top. We are developing a second generation of devices that will allow us to ensure consistent video quality as well as open up more parameters. We have collected the components of the device and are now in the final prototyping phase, where the design and quality are improved upon for the upcoming product launch.
Task
Briefly explained, we have developed a digital microscope, which is at the cutting edge of technology and with a primary commercial application within the reproductive health space. However, we also see potential applications in alternative domains. The objective of the project at a high level would thus be to conduct market research to identify:
- Potential market segments
- Analyze the competitive landscape
- Assess the commercial viability of this technology in different domains
The students would get an opportunity to collaborate with our in-house business and tech teams to provide them with the necessary insights and foster an understanding of the intersection of business and technology. We, therefore, see this project as a challenging and engaging opportunity for master's students, particularly in the Management of Innovation & Business Development / Business Administration & Bioentrepreneur ship / Business Administration & Innovation in Healthcare M.Sc. programs. The project can be part of a master’s thesis, a special course, or an internship. The duration can be discussed and the start date is flexible, but the goal is to find an intern that could transition to a stable part of the team. Practical details:
- You are expected to start as soon as possible
- This internship has at least 2 months duration and you are expected to work at least 20 hours a week
