The Technical University of Denmark solicits applications for the above tenured position created to support the further development of the department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering as a leading international department in the field of chemical and biochemical product technology with special focus on organic coatings.

Responsibilities and qualifications 
The teaching will cover experimental and theoretical Bachelor-, Master- and PhD-level courses in the core field of chemical and biochemical engineering as well as in-service training courses for industry. A successful candidate will have great interest in teaching including developing new teaching methods including the use of digital technology and with a strong emphasis on sustainability. 

The research will be in the framework of the Hempel Foundation Coatings Science and Technology Centre (CoaST). The center focuses on the full value chain from raw materials over formulation, test and characterization to production and application of advanced coating systems mostly based on organic polymeric binders, including bio-based binders. CoaST is still expanding, with a fast growing number of PhD- and Post Doc projects with focus on sustainable Anti-Corrosive coatings, Fouling Control Coatings, Intumescent Coatings, other functional coatings, integration of bio-based raw materials, water borne technologies etc., as well as projects with focus on new and improved model based test methods, new production and application methods etc. 

A successful candidate should have front line expertise within key fields of coatings technology with knowledge in polymer chemistry, formulation and product engineering and the ambition of being part of a global leading research, innovation and education center having focus on developing sustainable coatings technology. This means high personal ambitions but also the ability to work closely with other researchers in the center, at the department, at other DTU departments, at partner universities and with industrial companies.

You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.

As formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent). If you are applying for the associate professor position, you should also have academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship and documented didactic/pedagogic training.

Salary and terms of employment 
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
