We have recently finished the design, construction and installation of a pilot plant of our modular and easy-to-install PhotoBioReactor (PBR) solution at the Danish Technological Institute (DTI). A skilled team with the necessary experience has been built. The company has received funding from the BioInnovation Institute (BII), and we participate in the Venture Lab program since March 2022. In January 2023, ALGIECEL closed a DKK 10 million (EUR 1.3m) seed round in combined funding from Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund and a UK-based family fund. ALGIECEL has entered into supplier agreements with partners that hold key insights into areas such as LED light, biotech and plastic. LOIs with potential clients and product end-users have been secured. A venue for the demo-scale project has been secured at a Novozymes facility.
