You will play an important role in:
As our new senior manager in R&D, you will be overall responsible for all activities at our Research Center Copenhagen (RCC). The research center provides the environment and competencies allowing us to “prototype the future” to provide technologies for decarbonizing the maritime industry.

As a Senior Manager, you will have a high impact. You serve as a role model within Two stroke R&D, supporting, and developing department managers while motivating people to perform their best in your teams. In your leadership, you will focus on developing business strategies and future goals. As part of the two-stroke R&D senior management team, you will directly influence our technology development roadmaps and be at the forefront of technology development.

In your daily management of RCC, you will focus on the efficient execution of multiple projects and tasks as well as fostering strong collaboration with other functions and teams across the two-stroke business and with external partners. You will ensure that the environment and competencies needed for research, verification tests, and prototyping activities are available in close collaboration with your team and other stakeholders, both internally and externally.

The role includes the following tasks:

  • Responsible for the overall management, planning of prototyping, and verification tests of new technologies and innovations at RCC as well as support at licensees.
  • Secure participation in on-board verification of new complex technologies including “troubleshooting” in service and at licensees.
  • Support our aftersales business in development and verification of retrofit product portfolio including execution of related tests.
  • Responsible for the continuous development of own organization and employees.
  • Responsible for the implementation and management of the product and personal safety procedures and processes, especially regarding research facilities in RCC, prototyping, tests, and operation of research engines and supply systems. This includes compliance with the Machine, ATEX Directives, and local regulations.

MAN ES has planned to relocate our office and the research center to Trekroner, named The Valley. Within the next five years, another important part of the job will be to design our future research center together with your team so it meets future requirements allowing us to continue our innovative journey.

As our new colleague, you have strong leadership and interpersonal skills and a natural flair for communication with candor and respect. You have great organizational skills and an ability to apply structure to a busy working day for yourself and your teams. An ability to know when to take the helicopter view, and when to dive down into the details, and last but not least stamina to drive changes.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Engineering with 5+ years’ experience in managing a team of managers and highly skilled specialists.
