Exseed Health specializes in the development of medical devices and mobile applications with a focus on treating male infertility and introduced a device that allow men to test their semen quality from the comfort of their home.
The first gen device can detect sperm concentration and motility by simply inserting a sample holder that contains the sample and then putting a smartphone on top.
We are developing a second generation of device that will allow us to ensure a consistent video quality as well as open up more parameters. We have collected the components of the device and are now in the final prototyping phase, where the design and quality is improved upon for the upcoming product launch.
As the changes of internal components demand a rework of the physical appearance, so do they demand a new thinking about the internals and high-volume assembly of the device.
The task involves hands-on work for rapid prototyping, CAD-design, production design, mechanical engineering.
The tasks will include:
- CAD drawing of internal architecture
- Making 3D printed mock-ups of the final product
- Testing for fitment and functionality
- Production mindset
- Material properties
The project can be part of a master’s thesis, a special course or an internship. The duration can be discussed, but the goal is to find a student that could transition to a stable part of the team.
