Nanolithography specialist at Microsoft Quantum - Copenhagen and the Center for Quantum Devices, Niels Bohr Institute

Microsoft Quantum - Copenhagen is a research center sponsored by Microsoft Research aimed at developing the basic building block for a quantum computer.  
The Center for Quantum Devices is a basic research center supported by the Danish National Research Foundation, comprising materials research, experimental physics, nanoelectronics and condensed matter theory.  
 
The position 
The Center for Quantum Devices and Microsoft Quantum - Copenhagen seeks to hire a nanolithography specialist. The successful candidate will focus on training users for safe & competent use of instruments as well as assist users with lithography process development. S(he) will work with the cleanroom staff to run regular calibration procedures on the tools, help with tool maintenance, reach out to tool vendors for additional assistance and contribute to general cleanroom upkeep. 
 
The position is open from September 1st, 2018 or by arrangement. 
 
The candidate 
The successful candidate should have a Master’s degree in Engineering or Science. Having obtained a PhD degree is preferred. 
 
Requirements: 

  • At least two years of experience with lithography - e-beam and/or UV, thin film deposition, etching and metrology equipment. 
  • Lab, preferably cleanroom, experience with hazardous materials/chemicals. 
  • Experience in teaching/mentoring students is a plus. 
  • There will be significant interactions with users and faculty and this requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Terms of appointment and payment 
The position has a duration of 2 years.  
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.   
Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.   
The salary depending on seniority, starts at DKK 262,499 (+ pension) with the possibility of additional salary supplements.
