About the position/Who are we looking for
At Chr. Hansen we are searching for an ambitious laboratory technician to join our Dairy Bioprotection department in our Cultures & Enzymes Division in Hørsholm. We are introducing the use of bioprotective cultures as a natural way to delay growth of unwanted food contaminants in the global dairy industry. Reduction of food waste and cleaner foods are just two of the exciting perspectives that you will be part of achieving. 

The Bioprotection department plays a crucial role in the development of new bioprotective cultures for the dairy industry. We are also heavily involved in technical support, in trouble shooting and implementation of bioprotective cultures at our customers. As our lab technician you will be working in modern office and lab facilities and from time to time also participate in small scale production trials in our pilot dairy.  

A job focusing on microbiology and dairy
Your assignments will be solved in close collaboration with the other laboratory technicians and scientists in the department as well as in project teams across several departments. You will primarily be working on the following type of tasks:

  • Microbiological analyses of contaminants and pathogens in model systems or real dairy products 
  • Analyses of dairy products in relation to sensory, pH, texture, chemical composition etc. 
  • Planning, executing, reporting and concluding on analyses made in the laboratory in collaboration with the relevant scientist
  • Independent handling of customer related activities with a flexible and service-minded approach

Who are you?
You are trained as a laboratory technician, dairy- or food technologist, and it is key that you have a strong interest in microbiology and food production. You will need your open-minded approach towards partners and colleagues with other cultural and professional backgrounds and master English both written and oral. While collaboration is key to our success, you also need to thrive in handling your tasks independently and take initiative. 

Team
You will be part of a team of 10 competent and engaged colleagues of scientists and laboratory technicians. Our work environment is open and informal and characterized by knowledge sharing, collaboration and helpfulness. We are collaborating with many different internal and external stakeholders.
