Instrument Technician
We are looking for an Instrument Technician to join our friendly and fast-paced R&D department.

We are looking for an Instrument Technician to join our friendly and fast-paced R&D department.
The job
The Instrument Technician is hands-on in the NPD project(s) and an integral part of the Program team. As Instrument Technician you will work closely with the project team members to ensure that all instruments are functioning properly and that any issues are addressed in a timely manner to ensure that the project progresses as planned.
Responsibilities
- Build and update test setups and instruments (functional models and prototypes).
- Perform software updates and ensure that test setups and instruments are up to date with the latest firmware and software versions.
- Troubleshoot issues with instruments and related equipment to identify and address problems in a timely manner and get an understanding of the system performance in practice.
- Create technical drawings of cables and other components used in the instrumentation.
- Assist with mechanical drawings and electronics schematics.
- Perform various tests as needed and test the instruments during development to ensure that they are functioning properly and meeting performance specifications.
- Prepare instruments and documentation for REL (Reliability, Environmental, Legal) testing.
- Participate in field testing of instruments at customer sites to gather feedback and identify any issues that may arise.
- Provide an overview of the status of instruments, including updates and any issues that have been identified.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
- Support lead mechanics on various activities related to new product introduction (design tasks, BOM list, documentation, assembly etc).
- Other responsibilities may come if agreed due to interest, for instance Health and Safety responsibility in our Laboratory etc.
Qualifications

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices in a laboratory setting.
