The role as HV and Power Electric Engineer
R&D Test Systems are experiencing a growing demand for our competences globally. For this reason, we are looking for a Power Electric Engineer having experience with system design and control of Power Electric Systems for electric supply and energy conversion.
You will spend most of your time in test bench projects for our customers. You will be a part of the projects from sales or concept phase, and all the way to customer handover. We expect you to take ownership of the HV and Power Electric domain in the test bench by ensuring it meets customer requirements, using the right solutions in terms of quality, cost, and time. The test benches are by nature one-of-a-kind and therefore we often have to create new and progressive solutions to meet our customer’s needs. This gives rise to exciting and technically challenging projects, along with a steep learning curve.

You will be a part of our skilled Power Electric team, made up of 5 engineers in Hinnerup and 4 in Berlin. We have high ambitions, and we help each other succeed and get better.

In addition, your primarily tasks are the following:

  • You will act as a technical lead on complex projects, ensuring that the design meets the performance requirements, keeping a sharp eye on cost and quality, while guiding the design team in the right direction
  • Supporting sales on quotations and selling the right concept and solution
  • Systems design, by breaking customer requirements down into functionalities and subsystem requirements
  • Design, specification, and procurement of switch gears, transformers, converters and electrical machines in MW size
  • Design of Earthing layout, short circuit calculations
  • HV engineering, safety and compliance
  • Converter topologies and converter control
  • Control functional specification of the Power Electric Systems ensuring safety and proper operation of the machine.
  • Strengthening the Power Electric team by knowledge sharing and encouraging skills and tools development
  • The job also includes travels for on-site inspection, commissioning and trouble-shooting

We emphasize the following professional competencies:

  • At least 5 years of experience within systems design
  • Master's degree in HV or Power Electric Engineering or similar
  • Model-based control of Power Electric Systems or HV systems and power supply
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, preferably also Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation and/or PLECS
  • Proficient in English
