DTU Elektro has internationally, unique world-class experimental facilities within electric power and energy, robotics and automation, autonomous systems, electromagnetic systems, electronics and acoustics. The facilities are used by researchers, students, companies and partners, and are located on DTU Lyngby Campus and DTU Risø Campus.

The Job
With your section of skilled employees, you will contribute to realizing DTU Elektro’s ambition to further develop our world-class facilities in close collaboration with our scientific staff. You will take the lead in the daily work with a focus on operation and maintenance of facilities. You will collaborate with scientific staff in the sections concerning development and modifications of the facilities. You are expected to strongly support our activities related to research, education, innovation, as well as industrial collaboration.

You will be responsible for the budget and economic follow-up in relation to the operational and maintenance costs of the facilities.

In this newly created position, you must establish the new Section in collaboration with the Department's Management Group, and show the way together with the employees. We expect you to contribute to further collaboration across departments at DTU and with industry.

You will be the work environment coordinator at the Department. Furthermore, we expect you to represent the Department in technical forums at DTU and, with time, outside DTU.

You will lead an organisation of more than 20 employees across our Department and have to ensure employee development, personal backup and mutual assistance across our Department.

Your areas of responsibility

  • Management of the section, including planning, resource and budgetary follow-up
  • Lead the development of the section and in alignment with the Department
  • Engage in the Department’s Management Group and initiate collaboration within Department
  • Provide professional support for the scientific staff of the Department 

Furthermore, you will collaborate with the Department sections concerning:

  • Ensuring that the facilities are state of the art and continuously renewed, including prioritizing of changes
  • Contributing to the dissemination of activities to professional and non-professional interest groups
  • Engaging in collaboration with national and international partners of relevance

The ideal candidate can be recognized in the following description:

  • A motivating people manager who naturally initiates collaboration
  • Experience in management as well as resource management of specialist profiles, preferable teams with academic and technical staff
  • Several years of professional experience within complex technologies
  • Experience with tasks related to work environment coordination
  • A solid national and international network within both industry and academia
  • Experience with project management
  • Experiences with combining high-level research-based services with efficient implementation of commissioned services to the industry
  • Full of initiative with solid communication skills
  • It is mandatory to communicate with colleagues who use Danish, and it is essential to master English at a professional level

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) or any other relevant agreement. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. You will be employed as a Senior Executive Officer with staff management. Negotiation of qualification supplements will be possible.
