The position
As our new Intern, you will be involved and responsible for a broad variety of tasks and projects across our function and will gain an overview of the different opportunities within IES. The exact tasks will be adjusted depending on your preferences and our business needs at the time of the internship. 
Your responsibilities will be focused on 2-3 topics within the following fields:

  • Net zero roadmap: Supporting our function with data analysis of the root causes for the emissions and supplier interviews to map out potential alternatives (decarbonization levers) as well as getting involved in preparing plans and presentations for relevant management groups
  • Network events: Supporting in planning network & knowledge-sharing events to drive changes and support different stakeholders within the capex projects by finding relevant speakers, preparing slides, gathering feedback, and facilitating the event on the day  
  • Project Execution: Collecting feedback across stakeholder groups and eventually implementing them in the improvement process in the project execution model (PEM) within Capex projects
  • Procurement activities: Such as following up on contracts, and guarantees, drafting contracts based on the templates we use; participating in tenders, and supporting the preparation of tender materials and supplier evaluations 

Practicalities:

  • Internship period: 6 months
  • Working hours: Full–time 37 hours/week (with flexibility within the exam period)
  • Location: Bagsværd, Denmark
  • Start date: Mid-August or beginning of September
  • Internships are remunerated if your educational track allows
  • A Danish full-time work permit is required

Students must be enrolled at a university through the entire internship period. The working hours are flexible enabling you to combine an internship with lectures at university, project work, or writing your Bachelor/Master’s thesis.

Qualifications
You are studying your Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance or Supply chain management at a Danish university.
To succeed in the role, you need:

  • Proactive attitude to seek opportunities and find pragmatic solutions to engineering or sourcing-related challenges
  • Structured mindset with an analytical approach to assignments 
  • Professional manner with a positive attitude in communicating with stakeholders across the organization
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English

Previous knowledge is not a prerequisite, but we expect that you are curious to expand your knowledge within the worlds of capex projects, sustainability, technical topics, and the pharmaceutical industry.
 
About the department
Investment | Engineering & Sourcing (IES) is part of the Product Supply, Quality, and IT (PSQIT) organisation. PSQIT is an advanced technology organisation that proactively drives the purpose of Novo Nordisk and delivers the highest quality of products to patients in a sustainable and efficient way.

In IES, we play a key role in ensuring that there is sufficient capacity to treat our patients worldwide, by supporting our global CapEx projects (i.e. maintenance and expansion of production facilities) succeed through engineering and sourcing activities. As a function, we sit in the sweet spot between our global supplier base and our colleagues in the projects which we consider our customers.
Today, our team consists of around 60 employees with diverse backgrounds and 20+ nationalities. We prioritize teamwork, collaboration, and a people-focused culture.
