Today we are around 35 ambitious employees with diverse backgrounds and an engaged people-focused culture.

The position
As our new Category Manager, you will be part of a team who advises investments projects on engineering challenges and procurement of disciplines within engineering services, construction, and IT/Automatization.  Your focus area will be threefold:

Commercial activities: You will manage the commercial activities in several major capex projects globally. In line with the individual capex project’s needs, you will advise on the optimal engineering setup with an external engineering partner, prepare tender material, evaluate options from different engineering partners, agree the commercial terms with them, prepare a contract and follow up throughout the execution of the project.

Supplier relationship: You will further foster close relationships with suppliers within the field of engineering. Meaning you be the bridge between our colleagues in the capex projects in Novo Nordisk and the suppliers on the other side. On a continuous basis you will have dialogues with your supplier base on what we need and their competencies.

Stakeholder management: You will interact closely with key cross-functional Novo Nordisk stakeholders to ensure the right approach for sourcing of engineering services compared to current and future needs. This is to ensure the best technology available, high-quality standards, minimising our environmental footprint, and having competitive commercial terms. Something which can only be achieved through good relationships and finding solutions which benefit all parties.

Sounds interesting?
Then keep on reading how a day could look like…

You start the day by reading an e-mail from a project owner that needs your support to identify an engineering partner for a capex project that just has just been approved. She wants to set up a meeting to introduce you to the project and discuss the engineering partner possibilities and execution strategy. One of the focus areas of the project is to do a lifecycle analysis to keep the footprint of the building as low as possible.

Afterwards it is time for the daily team touch point where you have a power break session with stretching exercises. Besides moving your body, you look very much forward to catching up with your colleagues. You mention the new project that you just heard about this morning and have a chat with your colleagues about how we reduce our environmental footprint in the capex projects. You get plenty of good input from more senior and more junior colleagues on the topic.

Thereafter you have a meeting with an engineering supplier that wants to discuss with you a revision of the commercial conditions of an existing frame agreement. The supplier asks you in the meeting to increase rates way more than other suppliers have. You agree with the engineering supplier that they will need to investigate their forecast and come back to you with a detailed breakdown of the different rates.

You end your day with joining one of the more experienced category managers to one of their onsite supplier meetings to learn how they drive the continuous dialogue on strategic collaborations with regards to new technologies and automatization.
