As our new Laboratory Technician Intern you will become a key part of our Sustainability Technology Center R&D team. You will support the research and development of sustainable coating technologies Center with strong focus towards developing sustainable coating solution and delivering innovation to the coating markets.

 
Contribute to our evolvement

As our new Laboratory Technician Intern you will conduct laboratory activities including paint making, application and testing. Your primary areas of responsibility will be to support Scientists in laboratory tasks for waterborne coating application. Some of your key tasks will be to:

  • Follow all guidelines and group procedures regarding health, safety and environment.
  • Ensure that high standards of house keeping are maintained in Hempel facilities.
  • Prepare coating samples according to provided instructions and record operational procedure to ensure reproducibility.
  • Carry out performance evaluation of coating systems according to agreed methods, standards and customer specifications.
  • Liaise with internal customers to provide technical support.
  • Developing research and test methods.
  • Setting up and maintenance of laboratory tests equipment.
  • Calculating and analyzing test results and preparing detailed reports with recommendations and conclusions.

 

The position is located in Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark. We work in an informal environment with straight forward communication, and plenty of room for learning on the job. 

 

We are looking for

To be qualified for the role, you must be studying to become a Laboratory Technician. The ideal candidate will have several or all the following:

  • Must be able to learn and follow safe laboratory and chemical handling procedures
  • Personable with good collaboration skills, able to effectively work with a team
  • Structured and Quality-oriented.
  • Organized with good time management skills, able to prioritize workload
  • Communicate well in both written and spoken English. 
  • Proficient working in Microsoft 365 applications, specifically Excel, and able to quickly learn other work related software (e.g. rheometer).
  • Experience in operating rheometer is highly valuable.
