Vice President, urban planning and transport (29722)

Would you like to lead COWI's department for urban planning and transport covering Jutland and Funen? We are looking for a Vice President to bring the team to the next level.

Our current Vice President has been promoted to other business in COWI and for that reason we are looking for a Vice President for the department. The department have approximately 60 people located in Aalborg, Aarhus, Vejle and Esbjerg.

Your role as Vice President will be to expand our current strong holds and to accelerate the market development while upholding a strong operational focus on the day-to-day deliveries.

As our new Vice President, you will set the direction and be overall responsible for the execution of the department's strategy. You will be in the driver's seat and at the same time a key person pursuing and developing opportunities in Denmark and to a limited degree internationally. Along with our sister department in Lyngby we are more than 120 planners in COWI and as such probably the largest planning unit in Denmark. The planning environment includes a multitude of people with different educations such as urban designers, architects, traffic engineers, chartered surveyors, visualization specialists, geographers and IT specialists.

Experienced profile with strong business skills within urban planing and transport
You hold a Master's degree or have another relevant educational background and preferably more than 5 years of managerial experience from a similar position.

As Vice President, you will play the leading role in the continued growth of the urban planning and transport business. In your role, a strong management team consisting of three head of sections, four project directors and one technical director will assist you.

Your task is to ensure that we offer high quality services within urban planning and transport. 

Your main areas of responsibility will be to:

Develop and implement a growth strategy and go-to-market approach for consultancy services within urban planning and transport
Lead the management team to implement and execute the strategy
Lead the business development
Responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships and alliances
Develop and motivate your team of managers and ensure their professional and personal development
Deliver steady monthly operational results in line with expectations.

You hold strong communication skills in Danish and English both orally and in writing.
Furthermore, you will be part of the leadership team of the business unit Planning and Economics and you are expected to contribute to the overall strategy and management of the business unit.
