With a vision to make kids' and families lives better through active gaming, UDU was founded by the two Danish entrepreneurs Asbjørn H. Christensen and Christoffer B. Christensen.
Today the UDU-team consists of 9 talented people from all over the world. Our Game Developers, Designers, Engineers, and Business experts come from the US, Ireland, France, Iceland, and Denmark. Furthermore, we are working with some of the world’s leading partners in product development and production to make sure that everything lives up to our extremely high-quality standards. Together we’re making a new, healthier, more exciting mobile gaming experience for kids and families.
In 2022, UDU is expanding. We’ve received the funding we need to begin prepping our console for mass production, we are already building the console’s interactive games, and preparing for a huge crowdfunding product launch this year. As the product grows, so do we.
The UDU Console 💫
The UDU Console is changing the way we game, combining elements of physical and digital play to create brand-new, immersive experiences.
The Console uses cutting edge technology to create unique and captivating digital interactions with your physical surroundings:
- Machine learning algorithms track and recognize movements, gestures, and touches,
- Advanced haptics provide life-like vibration feedback, using custom-designed audio files to imitate physical touch,
- LED and visual displays create color, light, and graphic feedback, and
- Deep click squeeze and trigger buttons control the Console and in-app gameplay.
By pairing a console with a mobile phone, UDU is reinventing the way we play, see, and feel games. Not to mention where we play them!
The job 🏄♂️
UDU is now looking for a skilled Unity Game Development Intern to join the UDU team!
In this position, you’ll be a part of the development team creating the first mobile gaming experience for the UDU Console. The first game in development for the UDU console is an open-world, role-playing adventure game where players explore the real world in geolocation-based gameplay. They will explore, cultivate, and defend a rich fantasy world all around them, using the UDU Console to interact with creatures, objects, and monsters along the way. You’ll be working with cutting-edge technology bringing these experiences to life.
The game is developed for iOS and Android devices using the Unity game engine. It communicates with the UDU Console via Bluetooth (BLE) connection, and a backend via Unity’s web requests framework.
As a part of the development team, you will be asked to:
- Develop game features in Unity and C#
- Test functionality in Unity and on iOS and Android devices
- Work with BLE protocols to communicate between the app and console
- Communicate with a backend using Unity’s web request framework
- Develop clean and optimized software
- Participate in broader product development discussions
- Work collaboratively using git
