As our new experienced embedded software developer, you will join a new team of software and electronics developers on our next new product development project. In this new team you will start up with the existing teams in Embedded Systems, then move into our next product development project.

Our mission is to enable measurement and recording of EEG data 24/7 enabling epileptic patients and healthcare professionals to understand the brain better. We achieve that goal by bringing devices to market which can be body worn and used by the millions of people suffering from epileptic seizures or absences. If there ever was a good mission, this is one of the best ones.

The team you join
We are a multi-talented department of both electronics, RF, EMC, and embedded software developers divided into two teams. In the daily work we work in two-week cycles, planning the next steps in an environment where most of what lies ahead is new to most of the team. We have a high level of individual experience, but as a team we are developing. So, if iterative development, influencing your own day-to-day work and lending a hand outside the comfort zone is what you like – then this could be the next job for you. In total we are 18 developers currently. 

Position Content
We are in the early stages of development of the embedded software on our next EEG recording product. Based off Zephyr and ARM MCUs we create a low-power software package to drive recording for many hours. We are also part of delivering software for electronics test as well as production test. We need to develop device drivers, state machine, UI, OTA, and encryption of sensitive data, so there is much to do. The team is also establishing working processes compliant with EN62304, and your contribution is important.
We strive to implement Agile and DevOps principles by adopting Agile tools and thinking. The journey has just begun, and you will be an important part of this. We are not set in our ways, and we are working with an always improve’ and collaborative and caring mindset.

What do you bring to the position?
You rest securely in your sharp set of skills which will help us put a fault-free and safe device to market within most or all of these:

  • Experienced developer profile with proven (>5 years) solid embedded software design experience
  • Working according to EN62304
  • Ability to determine the right level of requirements, and document the path and decisions
  • Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.0+)
  • OTA updating and security
  • Encryption features on nRF SOCs
  • Low power embedded software design
  • Agile working principles, such as full stack feature slicing, collaboration, transparency
  • Languages: C/C++, Makefile/Cmake
  • Tools: GCC compiler, Jira/Confluence
