As our new Continuous Integration (CI) developer, you will join the whole team of software and electronics developers on our product development projects to provide automation of build and test as well as metrics recording and visualisation.

Our mission is to enable measurement and recording of EEG data 24/7 enabling epileptic patients and healthcare professionals to understand the brain better. We achieve that goal this by bringing devices to market which can be body worn and used by the millions of people suffering from epileptic seizures or absences. If there ever was a good mission, this is one of the best ones.

The team you join
We are a multi-talented department of both electronics, RF, EMC, and embedded software developers currently divided into two teams. In the daily work we work in two-week cycles, planning the next steps in an environment where most of what lies ahead is new to most of the team. We have a high level of individual experience, but as a team we are developing. As a CI developer you will be “the one” supporting iterative development and release with a high impact on the team day-to-day work as automation permeates the effectiveness and efficiency of development. In total we are 12 developers currently.

Position Content
We are in the early stages of development of the embedded and mobile software on our next EEG recording product. Today we have a very simple automation setup with a local agent on Azure DevOps and custom hardware. We need to expand on this to control physical movement, perform builds spanning embedded and app development, collection of key metrics on e.g., power and memory use. And that is just the first project. How do we scale to more developers? How do we get metrics collected from physical devices and visualised? How do we release software in compliance with EN62304? These are the questions you will put into code and infrastructure.

We have primarily a Linux environment on the automation side. Desktop PCs are primarily Windows based.

We strive to implement Agile and DevOps principles by adopting Agile tools and thinking. The journey has just begun, and you will be an important part of this. We are not set in our ways, and we are working with an ‘always improve’ and collaborative and caring mindset.

What do you bring to the position?
You rest securely in your sharp set of skills which will help us put a fault-free and safe device to market within most or all of these:

  • Continuous Integration Developer profile with experience of starting from scratch and pioneering effective ways of working with tool chains.
  • Knowledge of EN62304
  • Solid documentation skills on own work and decisions.
  • Infrastructure-as-code as a working principle.
  • Agile working principles, such as full stack feature slicing, collaboration, transparency
  • Languages: Python, YAML, XML, bash/sh, curl/REST, and the like
  • Tools: Azure DevOps (or other build orchestration tool), Docker, Grafana, InfluxDB, Linux, Jira/Confluence

You have personal skills which enables you to

  • Be very service minded and a good listener to extract user needs and implement these on the state-of-the-art tool stack you want
  • Work across teams with different priorities
  • “Go do” mindset – if you need it done, you just get started
  • Add to our Agile journey

We are sure that should you apply to the position, we will meet an empathic, and energetic person with the skills to match the responsibility of putting automation to work on our product development teams.

At UNEEG medical, we are looking for team members who thrive in an independent and ambitious work environment where curiosity, willingness to learn and a can-do attitude helping the team in reaching our common goals.
