UI Designer Intern
Are you a student looking to apply your skills with UI design and web development in a professional context? innoflow has an opportunity for you to join our company in role that involves close collaboration with our Marketing and Tech team.
What will I be doing?
We are very conscious that the internship needs to be a meaningful for you. Therefore, you will have an opportunity to tailor your tasks somewhat.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces for our application and our marketing website, which is built on WordPress.
The tasks can vary, ranging from creating production-ready UI for our application to designing and implementing new page layouts for innoflow.io (our marketing website).
We expect you to be a problem-solver with a technical background to help troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the design and implementation process.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in UI design and a bit of front-end development to gain hands-on experience.
We believe you need skills within the following:
- HTML and CSS - essential for creating and styling web pages.
- Responsive design - crucial for creating effective user interfaces that adapt to different screen sizes.
- WordPress - essential for creating custom themes and templates, as well as integrating third-party plugins and extensions.
We don't expect you to be an expert within all of these.
Who are you?
If you can identify with most of the following, innoflow is probably the place to be:
I'll find out, now!
Often, there might be questions that you cannot answer or tasks you cannot solve – immediately. You can see yourself researching for the best approaches or experimenting with different solutions.
When unforeseen problems arise, you get motivated and start working on solutions. You like checking things off your to-do list.
If I make mistakes, I will learn from it. But it’s a big if.
You're very attentive to your work and have established good structures for ensuring faultless designs. You don’t mind spending an extra 30 minutes on something if it means adding quality to the product. Sometimes, you might find it difficult to stop working on something, even if everyone else tells you it’s perfect. We’ll help you with that.
Asking for help and feedback is natural to you, how else do you improve?
I (try to) understand
Whether you are helping with design for our website, detailing new product features or something third, you are aware about the end-user. You research and think hard about their context and pains, making you capable of making designs accordingly.
You will be part of a structured development plan, where we will work on your skills and do what we can to achieve your career goals.
It is not crucial whether you have specific educational qualifications, X years of experience, or if you prefer to wear mismatched socks to work every day. If you think that you’ve got the skills to succeed in the job, we encourage you to apply.
Who is innoflow
Our vision is a world where everyone has equal opportunities to have a meaningful work life, regardless of ethnicity, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, economic status, and other diverse backgrounds.
Innoflow is a SaaS scale-up contributing to companies achieving diverse, inclusive, and high-performing workplaces by enabling anonymous case-based assessment across the entire employee life cycle. Innoflow allows HR and Talent Acquisition to unbiasedly attract, acquire and develop talent based on each company’s current business challenges. That way, we help organisations achieve DE&I targets and find the right match for both candidates and companies. We believe that this is one way of creating the world that we dream of! By minimising the risk of conscious and unconscious bias, everyone with the right competencies gets the opportunity to show them off.
To become our new UI Designer Intern, we will ask you to submit an anonymised, case-application. Working with the case will allow you to familiarise yourself with some of the tasks and challenges that you will face on the job.
The internship is unpaid and full-time, which means it will make the most sense if you are a student. However, does it sound meaningful to you, feel free to apply. We are flexible with the starting date and the number of weekly hours.
Your new colleagues
You can expect a team that is deeply invested in making sure all employees thrive and feel engaged at work. We value diversity and have ongoing conversations about how to ensure everyone experiences meaningful work.
Today, Innoflow's team consists of 9 colleagues, 7 of whom work daily at our office in Copenhagen, close to Christianshavn Station.
As a UI Designer Intern, you will have daily office hours, however with the flexibility to work from home should you need to from time to time. Your working hours will mostly be within normal working hours, as that is when customers can be reached. We expect to see you regularly at the office during your start-up phase (unless you are remote).
At the office we have lunch together every day, enjoy a good cup of coffee, or have a game of table tennis now and then.
- This is an unpaid, full-time internship position, which is particularly relevant for students who have internships as part of their education.
- Possibility to start as soon as possible. Flexible start date
- Free lunch, fruit, snacks, tea and coffee are provided.
- Our office is located at Bådsmandsstræde 19B, 1415 KBH K.
- If you are not based in Copenhagen, you can work remotely, but we prefer you to be part of the office environment.
- You should expect to spend approximately 60 minutes solving the case.
- You must be able to speak and write English at a professional level.
Everyone is responsible for each other's well-being. That's why we have a Culture C-Suite, where everyone has chosen what their special contribution to the Innoflow Culture should be. For example, we have a Chief Celebration Officer who is responsible for festive events and a Chief Sports Officer who tries to entice us to join CrossFit in the morning. But don't worry, if you're not the sports type, you can make friends with our Chief Drinks Officer. We can't wait to see what your C title will be!
The Recruitment Process
As advertised, you'll need to solve a professional, relevant case to apply for the position. You do this by scrolling up and then clicking 'apply', after which you can access the case.
We will be inviting to interviews from the start of February on an ongoing basis.
If you are invited to proceed, we will ask you to take a personality test, TT-38.
You will attend one interview of approximately 1 hour, which can be either online or face-to-face at the office.
