At Stiesdal Fuel Technologies A/S we offer the opportunity to make a real difference in the fight against climate change. Our team of creative thinkers are making true impact and joining us could be the most exciting and fulfilling step in your career.
Are you up for the challenge?
We are currently looking for an experienced Thermal Engineer to help design our SkyClean pyrolysis system. SkyClean is a high impact climate technology, combining low-cost biochar carbon capture with carbon-negative fuel production using agricultural waste material.
Taking SkyClean from concept to commercial scale
You will be the thermal modelling expert in the design team working to develop the SkyClean technology, fully realizing the climate change mitigation potential in converting straw to bio-char, biooil, and heat. You will participate in all phases from concept development to com-mercial scale projects, and your contributions will be vital for the team’s success.
Your primary tasks will be:
- Thermodynamic modelling of the SkyClean system
- Cold and hot testing of prototype and demonstration plants
- Data acquisition and analysis
- Capturing and implementing learnings from prototypes into the theoretical models
- FEA and CFD modelling
You have an engineering background and probably at least five years of experience in design and test from industries also handling biomass, such as power plants or other relevant industries. Experience in design and manufacturing of welded steel structures subjected to thermal expansion is an advantage.
We expect you to approach your work with enthusiasm and to be self-driven, passionate, and committed. It is natural for you to take on responsibility and you are confident in the role of team leader. You also perform well in the dynamic environment of a start-up organization.
What we offer
We offer an exciting and varied job working on important new technology, where you will be an integral part of the design team. Our core values are honesty, integrity, and respect for people. We firmly believe in the fundamental importance of trust, openness, teamwork, and pride in what we do.
The working location is at our headquarters in Give, or at our Copenhagen office/DTU Risø.
Our close collaboration with DTU Risø at Roskilde means weekly visits during test campaigns.
Stiesdal Fuel Technologies A/S has developed the SkyClean technology. SkyClean provides a game-changing opportunity to significantly reduce the CO2 emissions from agriculture in Denmark and globally. In 2021 we will manufacture a 2 MW-demo pyrolysis plant, processing straw into biochar, biooil, and syngas for district heating.
We are part of Stiesdal A/S, a young and fast-growing climate technology company with ac-tivities in floating offshore wind, energy storage, Power-to-X hydrogen production, and carbon capture and storage combined with green fuel production. For more information visit www.stiesdal.com.
