As Test Manager you will have responsibility for planning and conducting operational site tests in relation to the implementation of new signalling technology on the Fjernbane as well as ensuring that test results are reported and shared across the Signalling Programme and with interface organisations.
The Danish Signalling Programme, as the largest of its kind in Europe, is fully engaged replacing the old signalling system on the Danish railway with new computer-based signalling technology. The system is aligned with the European standard, European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS). Replacing the system on the entire railway makes Denmark the first country to implement ERTMS on a national scale.
The project is supported by international suppliers and consultants from across Europe, and your place of employment will be at our headquarters in central Copenhagen.
Operational Site test coordination
As Test Manager, you will be in charge of the operational site test activities related to the new ERTMS system. You will get to understand specific technologies in use, such as train operations and rules, traffic management system, interlocking and ETCS train control, telecom and IT security.
Your main tasks and responsibilities are:
- Planning and specifying the set-up required for executing the tests
- Following up on test activities and reporting
- Facilitating meetings in order to agree on the scope for tests, plans, and support
- Facilitating test execution, briefing before and reporting of the tests
- Reviewing and approving test reports
- Facilitating the hand-over of test system to relevant parties, e.g., the operating organisation
- Coordinating with other Test Managers to ensure relevant input for tests
- Updating concept, developing and implementing procedures, processes and tools both within the internal team and with operation organisations.
Solution oriented and with control systems experience
You might hold a technical university or college degree, perhaps within engineering. Though more importantly you have solid experience with tests and commissioning activities, preferably within the railway industry or from another similarly regulated industry.
You also hold a good to thorough technical knowledge of telecommunications network, e.g., ERTMS/ETCS and GSM-R, and ideally you have experience with an IT-supported production within a big scale industrial setting.
As a colleague, you are able to take directions as well as set direction when needed. Your team working skills are the best, and you are solution oriented in your approach. At the same time, you can work independently and towards given tasks and deadlines. Furthermore, you enjoy the busy days at work where a solid overview is required in order to manage overlapping and equally important tasks.
You communicate well with people of different professional and disciplinary backgrounds than your own, also when it comes to your technical writing skills. You easily communicate in English, as our organization consists of 20 different nationalities and our working language is English.
You will be employed in relation to the current labour agreement and your salary is settled based on your experiences and qualifications.
