FOSS is an international company that develops analytical equipment and solutions for food, agricultural and other industries. In a global world with a growing population, there is an ever-increasing demand for safer food production that is more efficient and less food waste. As a global market leader, we have the expertise to help companies to ensure that. If that sounds like an interesting work environment to you, then you may be our new colleague.

The job
We are looking for a Test Engineer to join our Validation Team, which is part of our fast growing Research & Development Department at FOSS Innovation Centre in Hillerød.

Our main purpose is to support all development projects in achieving succesfully validated solutions. In close cooperation with the projects, we are testing critical components, modules and complete instruments both in-house in our own laboratories and externally.

You will be responsible for testing our new instruments with focus on robustness and lifetime. Your work will thus be in the field of mechatronics, creating complete test setups.

We are a team of 10 people dedicated to ensuring that our customers have the best possible quality experience by testing instrument performance under environmental conditions, reliability tests and ensuring legal compliance. We have most of the relevant facilities inhouse including vibration, climate chambers and EMC lab’s. You will report directly to Jan Sten Andersen, Head of Validation.

Primary tasks
As Test Engineer, you will:

  • Define and plan the reliability tests in close cooperation with the validation project manager and members of the product development projects - typically the lead mechanic
  • Design, set up, execute and report tests, supported by your colleagues in Validation and the rest of R&D
  • Take a positive and pro-active role in improving our services and offerings as well as being a good colleague and team player

Qualifications and skills
We expect your educational background to be in engineering (mechanics, mechatronics, electronics, SW). Whether you recently graduated or already have a few years of experience, we look forward to hearing from you.

Basic programming skills in LabVIEW, PLC or Arduino are welcomed - an interest in learning to work with these programs is a must. We are using Inventor(CAD) for design and modelling, and we have laser cutter and 3D printer for fast manufacturing of parts e.g. for making parts for the test jigs. Experience in working with Universal Robots equipment (UR5) is a plus.

Knowledge within Design-FMEA, FoT (flat out test), accelerated tests, general life time testing is an advantage, but not a must. If you have previously worked with testing, it is considered an advantage (e.g. building up test rigs).

You have a practical and hands-on approach to problem solving. People describe you as an energetic and cooperative team player, who is self-driven and have a natural curiosity to learn new things.

Since FOSS is a global organization, it is a prerequisite that you are fluent in both Danish and English.

We offer
We offer an interesting job in a dynamic work environment in an international atmosphere with high focus on innovation and customer experience. You will work in a flat organisation with a high degree of cooperation across all departments.

FOSS is doing well and we have a lot of new and interesting products in our pipeline, that need your attention and we therefore look forward to having you on board!
