Can you picture yourself working with advanced ship engines in a challenging role which will take you deep into the engine room of ships and ship owners all over the world?

We are currently seeking Test and Development Engineers to expand our Two Stroke Operation department for Green Ship Propulsion Units, where we aim to make freight by ship greener through development of dual fuel and low emission initiatives.

As a Test and Development Engineer on our departments you will be assisting our customers on ships and the ship owners when problems with our hypermodern ship engines emerge. The knowledge you gather onboard will return with you back to the drawing board, and together with our R&D and design departments you will work closely on perfecting our groundbreaking technologies.

”Our engines are state of the art and are used to operate ships all over the world. In Operation, we work very closely with our R&D and design departments on software, mechanics and hydraulics. You will be given the opportunity to play a vital role in the refinement of prototype engines”, says Manager Peter Quaade.

Contribute to the development of green technologies
In our Two Stroke Operation department you will work together with around 80 highly specialized colleagues, who play a key role in our Engineering and R&D organization. You will be part of one of our professional teams, rendering technical support to our customers on their ships and to the ship owners.

  • Team 1 works with control systems, mechanics, and test and measurements focusing on the implementation of gas and other environmentally friendly fuels.
  • Team 2 focuses on Tier 3 technologies, SCR and EGR to reduce NOx.
  • Team 3 has its main focus on the mechanical and hydraulic components, among these bearings and exhaust valves.

A workday which will take you around the world
You will be supporting our customers online as well as on site. As an employee with one of our teams you can expect travelling up to 120 days a year, all over the world. You will be travelling alone on short trips
as well as in teams on bigger assignments.

You will be testing and troubleshooting on groundbreaking technologies
As a Test and Development Engineer you will be specialized within one of our teams while attending to all sorts of assignments. You will engage yourself in work with groundbreaking electronically controlled engines, driven by the latest environmentally friendly control technologies and some of the world’s fastest high-power electro hydraulic systems.

You will therefore gain great specialist knowledge when you:

  • Install and troubleshoot on mechanical, hydraulic and electronic engine components.
  • Guide our customers via email, over the telephone or on site.
  • Participate in testing of prototypes, primarily with our Asian manufacturers.
  • Participate in meetings with engine builders, owners and sub-suppliers.
  • Contribute to R&D projects.

Engineer or Bachelor of Marine Engineering with an understanding of mechanics and electronics
Since all of our mechanical engines are controlled electronically it is crucial that you have a good basic understanding of both mechanics and electronics.

It is important that you like to have oily fingers or work in front of the computer, where you dive into technical drawings or communicate with customers.

Finally, it is important that you see yourself in a very independent role where you freely make important decisions on your own.

We imagine that:

  • you are an Engineer or a Bachelor of Marine Engineering with great knowledge of two stroke engines
  • you have some experience, but you may also very well be newly graduated
  • you are physically in a good shape and flexible with working hours and travel activity
  • it would be an advantage if you have some experience working at sea.
  • you speak and write English fluently
