for passionate agile development leader
 
For our client, DIBS Payment Services, we are looking for a strong agile leader to be responsible for facilitating deliveries of new features and maintenance of DIBS’ payment platform. The platform is used by major financial and retail customers in the Nordic countries. 100% availability and reliability are vital to their customers and thus the overall business of DIBS. 
 
DIBS’ IT organisation is responsible for maintaining their payment gateways, developing new features, and keeping the platform operational and compliant. Besides the payment gateways, they are also responsible for the internal IT for the entire DIBS organisation.  
 
They are focused on agile and working in cross functional scrum teams. You will become a part of the IT organisation with more than 30 talented colleagues with competences within development, quality assurance, operations, architecture, agile scrum methods and leadership.  
It is essential that you ensure high performing scrum teams based on agile leadership in cooperation with the scrum master, as well as ensuring compliance to the development processes already in place or to be defined. Also, stakeholder management will be vital for you in order to ensure maintenance and compliance across other teams/platforms in cooperation with the DIBS product department. Where larger business cases are required, you will give inputs to forming the business cases.  
 
This team lead role includes personnel responsibility for approximately 7-12 team members divided on developers, QA and scrum masters with continuous motivation efforts setting clear and elevating goals, holding performance appraisals as well as yearly salary reviews. You make sure that the right competences are on the teams. 
 
You are a member of the IT management team with two parallel team leads, architects and operation manager, and you report directly to the CTO of DIBS. Furthermore, you will work closely with Product Owners as well as with the Operations department and software architects. 
You will occasionally visit large customers at strategic development meetings together with product owner.  
 
Your responsibilities will primarily be to 

  • Empower and help the team to build better systems by learning, exhibiting, teaching and coaching the team in agile principles and practices. Ensure that policies and procedures are in place and followed  
  • Collaborate with Product Owner and Scrum Master to create a clear vision and goal that everyone in the team can use for guidance in their daily work. 
  • Coordinating resources and timetables with business organization. 
  • Ensure alignment with other teams and stakeholders 
  • Employ and empower the team to become a team where continuous improvement is apparent 
  • Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements and preparing budget 
  • Continuously support and mature the incident and problem-solving processes 
  • Take the role as platform service owner for our payment platforms  

Personal skills  
We expect you to have at least 5 years of experience as a technical leader or program manager or senior project manager from a medium-sized company, preferably developing shared hosted applications and/or software solutions handling financial transactions. You have deep skills driving agile processes, you are used to make risk analysis and evaluation of progress - and react upon the facts. 
 
You probably have an IT engineering degree from a Technical University and have lead experience with teams developing software solutions or payment platforms. The team you will be heading are developing mainly in C++, Java and PHP. You are not expected to take part in coding, but you are familiar with the terms and challenges of software development 
 
You have a proven track record of building performance software development teams with focus on continuous improvement. Furthermore, you have solid experience in handling hectic situations and preventing future situations.  
 
You are fluent in both Danish and English. 
 
Personal qualities  
You are robust and professional, result-oriented and a team player - at the same time as being passionate about agile leadership and continuous improvement. Your working style is very structured and consequent, and you have excellent communication skills. It is very important that you are good at creating overview and transparency and can easily explain in a non tech way what tech is working on. 
 
As a person, you find it interesting to work with team organization, run software in production, make sure of progress in agile management. You are experienced in conflict handling, situational leadership and change management - and you are in tune with the team with focus on listening to team members, understand and react. 
 
You are patient and at the same time act when opportunities arise. You are used to setting goals and go for them even if it takes some time to reach the end. You should enjoy the process of bringing order to chaos and approach long stretched processes with endurance.  
We expect your leadership skills to be inspiring, coaching and situation based - your team’s success is your success. You have high energy and an open personality, as well as a positive attitude. Moreover, you have a pragmatic and dynamic approach towards problem solving and decision making in order to reach the targets of your organization.
