The Turbine Loads department is an integral part of the Siemens Gamesa Offshore Technology organization that forms the core of our technological leadership. We continuously aim to be best in class and we are looking for a Team Lead for a team of 10 highly skilled Loads and Validation engineers in our Copenhagen office.

How to contribute to our vision
The Turbine Loads department consists of 40 dedicated engineers divided across Copenhagen, Brande, Rouen/Paris & Bangalore. We drive the latest developments of turbine load design and validations, aero-servo-elastic analysis and load mitigation strategies. We continuously push the borders to optimize the annual energy production of our offshore wind turbines without compromising the structural integrity and operational constraints in the sub-systems. We work on the forefront of technology and product development.

We play a decisive role from the scoping of future turbines, through the load design process with strong interfaces internally and with customers/certifiers, to prototype validation and finally releasing the product for sales. In order to do so, we develop and maintain advanced tools for aero-servo-elastic analysis and validation.

Our markets and customers are international and so are our teams. In our Copenhagen office alone, we employ people from more than 10 different nationalities in an informal Danish working culture. We are a part of the Loads and Control module where we collaborate closely with our sister departments in Controls, System Level Control and Project Management. We have an international mindset and we communicate in English as we have teams in US, India, France and Denmark across the Loads and Control module.

Our vision is to remain market leader, and as a Team Lead your mission is to enable your team to support this vision. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overall responsible for team operations and performance within load assessments, aero-elastic analysis and load validation
  • Support your team members in their individual development and growth
  • Team development including recruiting, training and maintaining the right people with needed competences
  • Handle priorities and team member allocation in collaboration with our sister departments, technical project managers and other functions
  • Manage/lead improvement initiatives and support to Sales and Service tasks
  • Ensure continuous development of methods, tools and processes in alignment with other domains
  • Maintain and develop interfaces to universities and other research partners and keeping you updated within the technical domain

What you need to make a difference
Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for…

a candidate with a relevant educational background. We will mainly be looking for candidates within the fields of civil engineering, wind power engineering, or mechanical engineering – preferably on MSc level or higher.

a candidate with existing experience in leading highly skilled specialists; either as line manager or as technical project manager. You must be able to set objectives and directions for you employees, and keeping yourself updated within the technical domain

a candidate with professional experience within the wind power industry, and maybe have experience from turbine certification, site evaluation or turbine loads/aerodynamics/controls

a candidate with a high degree of intercultural insight, who can collaborate with people from many different cultures and with different technical areas of expertise

a candidate with good personal impact who has a clear and open way of communicating
