For our Blade Structural Team, within the Blade Structures Department in Offshore Technology, we are looking for a highly skilled Team lead experienced in structural design of composite structures. The Blade Structural Design Department works on cutting edge technology in an international environment. Roles require leading the highly qualified structural designer team of 12 specialist working on the New Product Introduction (NPD). Team works across the value chain, however the main responsibilities are detailed structural design, tool development, prototyping support, certification and specification of blade structures. Team works in collaboration different value chain function within technology and operations organisation.

How to contribute to our vision
As Team Lead you will hold the line responsibility for all employees in the team. Your main task is to support the team members in their daily work, while building upon their competences. Further, you have a development mindset and continuously seek to improve the capabilities of the team in how to work and what to do.

You will work closely with peers and other stakeholders within blade design, manufacturing, and procurement, and hence you need to have a good understanding of the value chain and be excellent in communication.

It is important that you have a holistic view and are ready to actively involve yourself on own initiative to support in scoping, problem-solving and executing in the different projects that are being executed.  In your day to day, you will be working closely with team members, Chief Engineers and the Blade Technology Department to align and plan introduction of technologies in the products.

You will also be responsible for executing relevant HR processes for the team mostly in terms of the yearly performance management process, hiring, and development of your team and its members. More direct administrative tasks like travel expense approvals and budgeting are only minimal.

What you need to make a difference
Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are looking for person who is an engineering manager that leads by example. You have a technical background and knowledge of wind turbine blade design and production. You have a MSc or PhD degree in mechanical engineering or aeronautical engineering with 5+ years of professional experience. You have solid understanding of composite structures and manufacturing.  You have working experience in a technical engineering organization doing technology development, product development, manufacturing and certification, preferably within the wind or aerospace industry

Furthermore, you have the following characteristics:

  • Successful track record with people management and leadership
  • Proven track record of project management
  • Living and/or working experience in an intercultural environment and readiness to travel
  • Structured and organized and able to lead change
  • Outgoing, determined and persistent with strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Motivated by making things happen and at the same time shaping the strategy and direction of the future
  • Excellent English skills both orally and in writing are a must in the international team, and it is of highest importance that you can communicate your results in a clear and convincing manner. Danish is not required, but it is considered a plus. Furthermore, you have a structured approach to your work, can handle multiple assignments simultaneously without losing overview and you are driving your work independently.
