FOSS is very proud of contributing to the sustainable use of our planet’s agricultural resources and thus to the nutrition and health of the people of the world. We provide analytics beyond measure to add value to our customers by improving quality and optimizing food and agricultural production. It guides our work and describes the very essence of FOSS and the purpose of what we do. If that sounds like something you would like to get out of bed for every Monday morning, then read on.

For our Product Engineering team in Research & Development, we are looking for a System Engineer to work on continuous improvement of the existing FOSS product portfolio, focusing on their measuring performance.

Join our Product Engineering team as System Engineer
FOSS develops and produces state of the art analytical instruments for analysis of milk, meat, grain, wine, and more. Our instruments combine state of the art electronics and optics with sophisticated flow systems and mechanical features.

Your primary responsibilities will be to understand and focus on the measuring performance of the analytical instruments in our product portfolio.

We work with a wide range of technologies such as NIR spectroscopy, FTIR spectroscopy, X-ray imaging, flow cytometry, and automated chemical analysis. You must become the expert in supporting our instruments based on the before mentioned technologies. In this position, we expect you to solve quality and performance issues. Your daily tasks will be diverse and will typically span from root cause analysis of deviations in the measuring performance in our production, updating and improving the measuring chain, and validating the implemented changes.

Tasks are typically driven as smaller projects with your colleagues in the Product Engineering team or with in-house specialists. You will coordinate with external suppliers, Service engineers, our Production, Sourcing, and your colleagues in the R&D department. Some long-distance travel may be required.

About you
You ideally hold a Master’s degree, preferably with a PhD degree, in physical chemistry, spectroscopy, optics, or physics and possess good analytical skills.

It is a requirement that you have a Danish work permit to apply for the job, and it is considered an advantage to write and speak Danish.

It is considered an advantage to have a multidisciplinary background and experience using Matlab or similar tools.

When it comes to your work approach, people describe you as structured while enjoying complex problem-solving. You thrive with taking on challenging tasks under time pressure if a customer is waiting or if production needs a fast solution. You are self-driven and have a natural curiosity for learning new things: you see solutions when looking at problems. You are talented at building strong working relationships and working with many different people - we picture you as a team player with a good sense of humor.

Working at FOSS
FOSS offers an interesting job in a dynamic work environment in an international atmosphere with high focus on innovation and customer experience. You will work in a flat organization with a high degree of cooperation across all departments. At FOSS, we value our employees and believe in cooperation based on trust, straightforward communication and clear objectives. We wish to motivate our employees to take responsibility and influence their work life. FOSS has many unique products in the portfolio and pipeline that need your attention; therefore, we look forward to welcoming you on board!
