One of our current top priorities is to develop and implement the environmental sustainability strategy in Strategic Sourcing, and within this area engage with stakeholders and develop data management excellence across our unit. You will work closely with the Sustainability Partner in Business Support, on various initiatives related to both our social and environmental responsibilities towards suppliers. Within this area you will also be working with a diverse set of stakeholders across Strategic Sourcing, other sourcing units and corporate functions.

Furthermore, you can expect to be working closely with the Business Support digitalisation team who are focused on collecting, structuring, applying data and developing digital solutions to optimise the way we work.  You will work with data both on a practical and strategic level and be engaged in communication to both peers and management.

You will likely be working with software/systems like Excel, SAP, Power Platform, Alteryx, Tableau and Coupa. You can anticipate varied working days with many different tasks and numerous stakeholders and get a broad insight into the work of a Strategic Sourcing function.

  • Internship period: 5-12 months
  • Working hours: 37 hours a week, with the possibility of variation over the course of the internship
  • Start date: Preferably in April/May, alternatively Mid August
  • Internships are remunerated, if your educational track allows
  • A Danish full time work permit is required
  • A valid student status throughout the full internship is required

Qualifications
You are currently studying for your Bachelor or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental management, Digital Innovation, Business Intelligence, Economic or similar. In any case, you have great analytical and problem solving skills and are comfortable working with data. As a foundation for this, you are a skilled user of Microsoft Excel and you have attention to details and are able to structure and communicate data. Experience with Power Platform, Alteryx or Tableau is not a requirement, but it is a plus. If you are used to problem solving and creating compelling power point presentations (e.g. in the form of case competition participation) this will be considered an advantage.

As a person you should have a high level of drive and a willingness to take responsibility for your own learning. This should be seen in your strong work ethics and proactive drive both professionally and personally. In addition, you thrive in a busy work environment and bring a good sense of humour to your work even when the pressure is on. Finally, good cooperation and communication skills are essential as well as a profound interest in working in a global, complex and dynamic organisation. As a prerequisite for this, solid English language skills (both in speech and in writing) are required.

About the department
Strategic Sourcing is the central sourcing unit in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division, responsible for the medium and long term strategic sourcing activities, which involves global identification and strategic management of suppliers for Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production sites. You will be part of Business Support, where we drive cross-unit projects and contribute with value-adding quality, financial, social/environmental, commercial and market intelligence support to the other five departments in Strategic Sourcing, as well as define various standards and processes, which are used in sourcing activities across Novo Nordisk's worldwide Product Supply division.

You will enter a thorough, yet fast-paced and ambitious environment, where we collaborate closely with stakeholders inside and outside Strategic Sourcing. You will be located in Bagsværd, where 12 competent colleagues in the Business Support team look forward to welcoming you.

Together we drive change
At Novo Nordisk, we don’t wait for change. We drive it. We’re a dynamic company in an even more dynamic industry, and we know that what got us to where we are today is not necessarily what will make us successful in the future. We embrace the spirit of experimentation, striving for excellence without fixating on perfection. We never shy away from opportunities to develop, we seize them. From research and development, through to manufacturing, marketing and sales – we’re all working to move the needle on patient care.
