Headquartered in Hillerød, Denmark, FOSS is an international family-owned company providing analytical equipment that helps to improve production processes and product quality in food, agricultural and other industries´.

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to join our team. Experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g. APQP, PPAP) and supplier audits will be considered an advantage.

The job
FOSS develops and produces state-of-the-art instruments for analysis of milk, meat, grain, wine and more. Our instruments combine sophisticated flow systems and mechanical features with state-of-the-art electronics, optics and software.

As a SQE, you will be part of the Global Quality team, which consists of two SQE’s in Denmark and five SQE’s in China on the supplier quality side. The Global Quality organization also includes Product Quality Engineers, Incoming Quality Control and New Product Introduction technicians. The SQE’s continuously ensure quality and performance of existing products and new products under development in R&D.

You will be responsible for supporting suppliers and R&D projects. This will include New Product Introduction, performance management with focus on achieving supplier quality KPI’s and continuous improvements in production.

Furthermore, you will be an active participant in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), assist with selection and approval of suppliers in close cooperation with Global Sourcing and plan and execute audits at local and global suppliers.

Primary tasks

  • Participate in R&D projects to secure DFM in new solutions before the products are released for final production
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in FOSS across departments
  • Support the Global Sourcing team with measuring and planning of improvements of quality of existing and new FOSS suppliers
  • Cooperate with our suppliers to develop and improve quality and production processes
  • Solve quality issues
  • Be the technical support internally and externally
  • Execute audits and supplier assessments according to future plans

Qualifications
The SQE team has extensive experience with mechanics, primarily mechanical machining, sheet processing and aluminium casting. Therefore, experience with optics, electronics, electro mechanics and/or chemistry to supplement the current skillset will be considered a plus.

Ideally, you have experience with Quality Management Systems e.g. APQP and PPAP to support the ongoing development and professionalization of the Global Quality organization.

Education background could be various e.g. production technologist, quality management or other. You should expect travel days to visit suppliers. It is a prerequisite that you are comfortable speaking and writing English.

You are resolute and persistent when ensuring that quality issues are solved and implemented correctly into FOSS’ instruments. You are ambitious, curious and want to make a difference.

The ability to build positive relations and communicate clearly to stakeholders throughout the organization is very important to succeed in the job.
