About the department

You will be a part of the Novo Nordisk Insulin production, Diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (DAPI) and assigned to Purification Plants (PP). PP consists of 4 factories, plus support functions, that produces different active ingrediencies for many of Novo Nordisk diabetes products.

You will be part of PP’s newly established Future Factory team. Our focus is to develop technical solutions with a high degree of usability – and you can expect to see how your work improves our processes.

The team works with modelling and manufacturing intelligence, supporting the entire PP in making data-based decision on both operational and strategic level.

The position
Your main tasks will vary, depending on the current business needs. Examples of a task could be to organize process data and visualize them as useful control chards - or develop a mechanistic, hybrid or capacity model that expands process knowledge.

You will need to collaborate with specialists and other stakeholders across the area, in order to combine your data skills with their process understanding.
 

Since the nature of the job is student based, you will also have the opportunity to develop and learn how to apply the knowledge that you have and will gain from an academic degree. Furthermore, you will gain experience in working in a global company, manufacturing environment and how data can be utilized with the current trend of industry 4.0. Therefore, you will be part of an organisation that values creativity, innovation and the ability to work with people with different backgrounds.

Qualifications
The candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • Studying within the field of chemical- process-engineering or similar at a Danish university
  • About to or already within an MSc programme. NOTE: upon job start the candidate should have at least one-to-two semester left before their MSc thesis
  • Focus area of studies: process design, modelling and optimization
  • Understanding of basic process control theory
  • Understanding of basic process simulation programs

Coupled with the above, you enjoy solving complex problems applying a systems approach to manage complexity and arrive at a feasible applicable solution.
