We are currently looking for a student worker to join our Overhead Catenary System team as part of our Rail Electrification Group. Our projects include the design and engineering of power systems and overhead catenary systems to ensure reliability, availability, maintainability and safety of railway systems. 

You will be joining the Overhead Catenary System (OCS) team - an international engineering group supporting all rail projects within Siemens Mobility. The OCS team consist of engineers skilled in catenary design, support during execution, commissioning, as-built documentation and quality assurance of rail electrification projects. You can look forward to working with committed colleagues, who can’t wait to support your journey of wisdom in the world of Rail. 
 
Your tasks will be to assist the design team in deliveries of:

  • Basic and detailed design of Overhead Contract Lines (OCL)
    • Catenary layout design
    • Construction design preparation for installation
    • Design analysis of feeding and sectioning diagrams
    • Cantilever and dropper calculations
    • Review of technical documentation and drawings
  • Design and dimensioning of OCL supporting structures
  • Catenary system principal development

You possess the following qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in infrastructure, mechanical engineering, civil engineering or similar fields
  • Interested in BIM and have some level of knowledge in Autodesk or Bentley software
  • Proactive and curious mindset, with a strong motivation to explore new and technical topics
  • Proficient in English and Danish 

Our main office is in Ballerup, however the OCS team is mainly located in Kalvebod Brygge in Copenhagen. You will be able to work from both locations, and work from home by agreement with your manager.
