The IT Development Department
As a student assistant, you will be a part of our Software Architecture team, working closely with our two user experience designers. The team is part of our development department, which consists of more than 70 colleagues. You can look forward to a diverse role where you will work with many different people and applications through design and user research tasks as well as frequent communication with stakeholders and developers.At Centrica Energy Trading we embrace change, and our Scrum teams deliver several new versions of our software every day.

This makes our work with requirements, design, and shared components for design patterns even more important. We are certain you will thrive in a strong team with a positive atmosphere and great cooperation with the rest of the organization. We work in small teams in an open workspace that enables us to share knowledge and improve ourselves to be even better tomorrow. In addition, we have a very good canteen and many other perks. We are focused professionals, but we enjoy ourselves – both internally in IT and in relation to our customers, most of whom are in the same building as us.  

You will be hired based on your skills as well as your personality
We expect that you:

  • Have a positive view of life and are a people-person
  • Have practical experience with User Centered Design (e.g. from university projects)
  • Have practical experience with User Research and requirement specification (e.g. from university projects)
  • Have enough technical know-how to communicate efficiently with software developers

In addition, it would be an advantage to be familiar with some of the following:

  • Interactive prototypes in Figma or similar
  • Usability Evaluation
  • Usability Test
  • CSS, HTML and Angular
  • C# and WPF
  • Scrum, Kanban & the Agile development methodology
