The job
We are looking for a talented Python software developer to help build and maintain the Python-based software that underpins our data and analytics ecosystem. You should be interested in developing Python code that runs data pipelines and data visualization interfaces, but also feel motivated by getting ad-hoc tasks that, for instance, could involve exploring new technology or practices to incorporate into our work.

This is a unique opportunity to strengthen your Python and data engineering skills, and gain working experience with developing production-ready software for energy trading solutions. You will experience that your contribution will have immediate impact on how we break down the complexity of energy markets and optimize operational decision making. As we are scaling quickly, you should expect to get a lot of independence and responsibility from the beginning and learn at high speed.

You’ll join a highly skilled international team of developers, analysts, data scientists and power traders who thrive in an exciting work environment and has a very informal and learning-based culture.

The working location will be at our new offices in the district of Carlsberg City in central Copenhagen.

Your opportunities

  • Learn best practices for developing and testing software in Python. We are a Python house
  • Get exposure to how one containerizes code with Docker and run it in production on Kubernetes
  • Learn how to design and develop production-ready, scalable data pipelines to support business processes
  • Design and build dashboards that visualize data in simple and intuitive ways
  • Conduct various ad hoc analyses to assist in decision making processes 

Your qualifications

  • A current student in a master or bachelor program with a strong technological basis, e.g., Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or other relevant fields
  • Full professional proficiency in English – both written and verbal
  • Strong programming skills in Python is a requirement. Experience with other programming languages such as Go, Rust, .Net is an advantage but not a requirement
  • Experience with object-oriented programming, unit testing and Python data packages (e.g., Pandas and Requests)
  • Experience with Git
  • Knowledge of Docker and SQL
  • An interest in learning about electricity markets
  • Big plus if have some experience with Postgres databases, Cloud or Kubernetes
