Student assistant to Yonehara Group at DANDRITE
The Department of Biomedicine and DANDRITE at Faculty of Health at Aarhus University invites applications for a position as a student assistant as per 15 July 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a fixed-term position with 12 weekly working hours on average.
About DANDRITE
The Danish Research Institute of Translational Neuroscience (DANDRITE) is the Danish node of the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine and is hosted by Aarhus University and funded by the Lundbeck Foundation. DANDRITE is devoted to interdisciplinary approaches in basic and translational neuroscience and is placed at two departments: Department of Biomedicine (Faculty of Health) and Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (Faculty of Science and Technology). The organization and environment stimulate for genuine convergent research of natural sciences, engineering, and medicine - including also clinical research projects together with researchers from Aarhus University Hospital.
About Yonehara Group
The Yonehara group investigates the structure, function and development of neural circuits in the visual system. We are interested in the role of different cell types in neuronal circuits and the genetic and molecular mechanisms of how those circuits are assembled during development. The methods used include two-photon imaging, electrophysiology, optogenetics, trans-synaptic virus, genetic labeling,
molecular biology, genomics and behavioral analysis.
Your job responsibilities
As student assistant, your primary tasks is within IT and technical assistance in relation to experiments and activities in the research group. Your main tasks will consist of:
- Programming.
- Development and maintenance of software.
- Research support within neuroscience area.
You will report to the Group Leader Keisuke Yonehara.
Your competences
Experience with programming in Python and Matlab as well as experience with analysing neurophysiology data will be considered an advantage. As a person, you have good interpersonal skills, are friendly and helpful and able to contribute to a good work environment.
We expect you to be fluent in oral and written English.
