Student Assistant: Software Engineering

About the department
You will be part of Biopharm’s department of Advanced Analytics within our Manufacturing Development area. Main responsibilities for the team are supporting and optimizing all parts of the production, using IT, data and LEAN, from the manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients, all the way through assembly to finished products. As a student worker in Novo Nordisk you get the opportunity to learn more about the pharmaceutical industry, while working with data pipelines and software development.
The job
We are looking for a student worker to support our data scientists and data engineer for 10 - 16 hours per week. The main tasks include data collection from a myriad production systems, object oriented programming and data curation. The job also requires responsibility of minor projects and will enable you to put your theoretical knowledge into practice while at the same time gain industry experience and build a network with talented professionals in the organisation. In short you will:
- Maintain/develop/build Python-based applications that create a big difference for the manufacturing processes, costs and quality of our life-saving products.
- Have fun writing awesome code in a team environment.
Qualifications
We expect that you are currently studying an academic education on bachelor level or start master’s in an Engineering field or Natural Sciences, with very strong object oriented (e.g. Python, Java, C#) programming skills. Knowledge in SQL and cloud technology will be beneficial. You must be able to comprehend and understand data and be curious about the underlying processes that generate it. You have an interest in working with data management. You must have a keen eye for details, and be able to see potential flaws, especially when working with data collection and curation.
At the personal level it is key that you can work in a team environment with a high degree of self-engagement and have the ability to keep deadlines. You are always taking responsibility of your tasks, getting the job done and you are curious. You have an eye for details, and an open mindset including willingness to learn and to improve.
