In Development, we take responsibility for new products based on proteins and peptides from early development phases to launch of the products. Further, we are responsible for managing the Novo Nordisk clinical drug development worldwide, securing that the process lives up to uniform global standards, regulations and business ethics. We work cross-functionally with a multitude of stakeholders locally and globally with focus on delivering viable products that make a difference to patients and ultimately benefit society.

About the department
The position will be anchored in Epidemiology, which is part of the Data Science area within the Development organisation in Novo Nordisk headquarters in Søborg, Denmark. This department consists of a team of 15 dedicated epidemiologists of various backgrounds and experience. In Epidemiology, we are responsible for providing epidemiological evidence to all phases of the product development also after the launch of products in the market. We collect evidence by setting up our own pragmatic and observational studies and by searching the relevant literature.

The job
As a student assistant in Epidemiology you will assist the team of epidemiologists in analysing, validating, and communicating epidemiological knowledge.

You will be involved in various projects incl. observational studies, and preparation of epidemiological evidence to different stakeholders within Novo Nordisk. The main tasks include literature searches and reviews. Other tasks include validation of data in abstracts and proofreading of publications, preparation and validation of presentations. The working time is estimated to be 12-15 hours per week, but mutual flexibility is expected.

Qualifications
You are studying a relevant BSc/MSc programme related to epidemiology such as Public Health, Global Health, Biostatistics or similar. Preferably, you have two years until graduation. You have a strong interest in and understanding of epidemiology and human biology and are proficient in MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint). You are fluent in spoken and written English and have excellent communication skills. Familiarity with EndNote and PubMed is an asset.

Together we drive change
At Novo Nordisk, we don’t wait for change. We drive it. We’re a dynamic company in an even more dynamic industry, and we know that what got us to where we are today is not necessarily what will make us successful in the future. We embrace the spirit of experimentation, striving for excellence without fixating on perfection. We never shy away from opportunities to develop, we seize them. From research and development, through to manufacturing, marketing and sales – we’re all working to move the needle on patient care.
