Your main task
Our hearing aid antennas are designed to establish a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) radio link between the hearing aid and another device e.g. a smartphone, for transferring audio- and control signals. A great number of use cases exist, and we need to make sure, that the connection quality is sufficient in all relevant cases. In addition to this, a set of regulatory emission requirements exist, which need to be met as well. Your task will be to assist in doing the measurements needed, for verifying this. More specifically, your tasks could be:

  • Measuring transmitted radiated power (TRP).
  • Quantifying link quality.
  • Measuring out-of-band emission levels (e.g. harmonics).
  • Doing subjective listening tests.
  • Measurements can be done having the device in either free space or placed on the ear, as well as within different reflective and interference environments.

Your profile
We are looking for an engineering student (BSc/MSc) who is about to specialize in RF and/or antenna design. Some basic characteristics:

  • Basic understanding of Electromagnetism.
  • Knowledge about wireless communication and RF.
  • Natural interest in antenna measurements & data analysis.

You are at least halfway through your bachelor, and you are considering doing your final thesis within the area of RF or antenna theory.
The work amount will be 1 day/week (8 hours). Specific weekday can be agreed, and we are off course flexible around exams or classes at university.
