The position
You will have the chance to experience many exciting challenges, ranging from scanning markets for suitable suppliers to ensuring already approved suppliers’ ability to deliver products and services to our production sites and sales markets. As an intern in Strategic Sourcing, you will support different sourcing categories in the daily work of running tenders and preparing for negotiations, approving suppliers, driving cross-functional projects, and being updated on market dynamics. You will also be involved in tasks related to various markets and extensive data analysis used for developing long-term sourcing strategies, preparing business cases, and up and downstream supply chain impact on different scenarios. Practicalities:
- Internship period: 6-12 months
- Working hours: Full-time (37 hours a week)
- Start date: August 2023
- Internships are remunerated if your educational track allows
- A Danish full-time work permit is a prerequisite for non-EU citizens

Qualifications
You are currently in first or second year Master’s student in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent
- Passionate about problem-solving with sound personal judgment and excellent interpersonal skills
- Outgoing with strong personal drive and dedication
- Thrive in a busy environment and bring a “can-do” attitude
- Positive-minded with a healthy sense of humour
- Strong working ethic and willingness to take responsibility for your own learning
- Fluency in oral and written English (English is our office language)
- Experience with Excel and PowerPoint

About the department
Strategic Sourcing is the central sourcing unit in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division. This means that we are responsible for all strategic sourcing activities related to Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production and supply to sales affiliates. Strategic Sourcing is responsible for setting global strategic direction and driving long-term supply chain planning to optimise our commercial opportunities and balance risks.
We collaborate closely with our key internal stakeholders in Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Development, international production sites, and sales affiliates. Together we develop and execute sourcing strategies, supplier development, market insights, risk management, and contract management to improve delivery, quality, and cost performance – always in line with Novo Nordisk’s Triple Bottom Line: balancing financial and social, and environmental considerations. Strategic Sourcing consists of around 70 individuals from more than 15 different countries and a great variety of educational backgrounds including Supply Chain Management, Economics, Engineering, Science, and Legal.
