Software Group and Project Manager

Things move so fast that, in our minds, we are still a small start-up - and in our values and the way we execute, this still rings true. One example is how we organize software development into small, independent and empowered software teams. These teams build software products on top of a shared platform, Dental Desktop.

This .Net-based platform provides shared infrastructure and core functionality, so other teams can efficiently focus on meeting specialized user needs, for instance within dental radiology, implant planning and 3D printing.

Leading development of the Dental Desktop platform is not a walk in the park. As a key enabler for 3Shape’s product vision and strategy, the project has high visibility and long list of stakeholders at all organizational levels. In addition, as the platform supports many products and teams it is where conflicting requests and priorities become exposed and must be managed.

To lead this endeavor into its next phase, we’re looking for a Software Group and Project Manager to join our 3Shape HQ in the center of Copenhagen. In this position, you will be responsible for both people management and project management of Dental Desktop platform.

As a project manager, you will lead the team which currently has 15 team members (5 in Copenhagen and 10 team members in our own well-oiled department in Kiev). You will work closely with stakeholders, product owners and the highly empowered team of scrum masters, architect, UX designer, developers, testers and documentation, quality and release managers.

In addition, you will initiate and lead overall improvements of our agile processes for automation, continuous delivery and documentation.

As a people manager, you will lead and develop the Danish part of team and recruit when needed. In addition, you will work with your Kiev-based peer to align across our two locations.

Our vision of the ideal candidate

• An agile leader that sets the overall direction and empowers the team, without being afraid getting your own hands dirty when impediments get in the way
• Excellent collaboration, stakeholder management and communication skills (fluent in English)
• Significant project management experience required, preferably from highly agile software organizations
• Some people management experience required
• You likely have a degree in computer science, engineering or IT. A background in MedTech software development will be beneficial
