Join us as our new Senior System Engineer, Lyngby 
Novozymes has embarked on a journey to enhance business and scientific productivity through better exploration of research data across the organization. Data management (DataMan) develops and maintains several key systems to provide seamless and intuitive access to research data and state of the art data analysis and visualization tools - supporting e.g. genome sequencing, wild-type discovery, and protein engineering work in Novozymes’ global R&D organization.
 
DataMan has full operational responsibility for these systems, enabling an agile and flexible environment where the pace of delivering solutions from scientific ideas is accelerated. You’ll be a key person in creating a bridge between our platform and the needs of the research organization.
 
As a part of DataMan, you’ll join the Data Tools department that consists of a diverse set of highly skilled people with competences across the fields of IT and biology. The team shares development and maintenance tasks, as well as engagement activities towards the research organization. In your day-to-day job, you will do systems development in a team setting, help strengthen our underlying software platform and ensure operational stability.
 
The person we are looking for is a team player, has an easy-going personality, an open mindset to systems and services and can comprehend complex problems to drive strong solutions for the benefit of research in Novozymes globally.
 
To succeed you must:

  • Have a degree in IT, computer science or equivalent experience
  • Have hands on experience with Linux environments
  • Have hands on experience with system development and DevOps
  • Have hands on experience with databases
  • Have strong programming skills with Python (or similar languages)
  • Be fluent in spoken and written English
  • Have a desire to take an active role in forming the future of Novozymes IT research systems
  • Some travel must be expected

 
Experience with the following will also be beneficial:

  • Data processing pipelines
  • Cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Biotechnology research such as proteomics and genomics

Location: Novozymes Innovation Campus, Lyngby, Denmark.
