Do you dream of splitting your work hours between fresh air on a vessel and the comfort of the office? Do you thrive being on deck, getting equipment in and out of the water, troubleshooting and working with the vessel crew? Would you like to work with state-of-the-art marine environmental monitoring equipment on some of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects?

DHI can offer that and much more!
We are searching for an experienced senior marine or hydrographic surveyor for our Field Services department to be technical lead on our project in the Bight of Kiel.

We operate worldwide but with most of our survey activities concentrated to North European and Scandinavian waters. For more information visit: https://www.dhigroup.com/areas-of-expertise/coast-and-marine/survey-and-monitoring

The job
In this position you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our six advanced measurement buoys in the Bight of Kiel. Together with the project manager you will decide what needs maintenance, plan the trip with vessel, crew, and colleagues, troubleshoot on board, exchange instruments and check that everything works, instruct divers, and write the survey log.

Back in the office, you will see to the instruments together with our electronic engineers, make sure errors are corrected and instruments sent off for repairs, service, or calibration.

Sometimes you will be making new moorings, sometimes doing paperwork, sometimes working on other projects, and helping where you can.

You will be part of a department with 14 colleagues all based in Hørsholm. We have very different backgrounds and seniority but see that diversity as a great strength. We work closely together all of us and enjoy the team spirit that comes with working offshore and always having each other’s back. You can expect to be offshore around 50 days a year, typically 1-3 days duration, but longer trips do occur.
