Senior Software Developer

Sky Labs Aalborg is part of Sky Plc and Comcast Inc. At the Aalborg office, we develop key software components for consumer devices used by Sky and Comcast broadcast and internet customers. We participate in the complete product development cycle, while maintaining a set of key competencies unique within Sky. We are expanding our presence in Denmark, adding additional technical areas and you will have a unique opportunity to grow with the team already working here.
You will work with an agile development process to provide software components that are released with regular intervals for integration and deployment across millions of devices. You will be a part of a large international team and will have an opportunity to influence the software for both current and coming products.
What are we looking for?
- In-depth understanding of Linux product development and tools.
- Extensive programming experience. C++ is a plus.
- People who can elegantly solve complex problems and are passionate about delivering quality software.
- Ability to accurately estimate software tasks and work to schedule.
- A mentor who can help less experienced members of the team to develop and improve.
- An Agile mindset and knowledge of Scrum methodologies.
- 5+ years of relevant software development experience.
- Master of Software Engineering or Computer Science.
What will you be doing?
Working with product development & supporting existing products:
- Programming/debugging Linux code in C/C++.
- Application and Platform development.
- Participate actively in our project-oriented development process.
Designing and building next generation platforms for streaming media
- Be part of an experienced platform team working with designs and implementations.
- At times take the team lead role during different development phases.
- Document designs and decisions.
- Sharing knowledge and good programming habits.
Where you'll work
Sky Labs Aalborg, our R&D facility centrally located in Aalborg, Denmark. You will mainly be working in our office, but we have a flexible work environment and support hybrid working. We offer competitive salaries and benefits.
