Help ensure that we in Denmark reach our goal of 70% CO2 reduction by 2030 and a fully carbon-free society by 2050. This is your opportunity to make these ambitions a reality!

We must store our green energy from wind and solar cost-effectively so that we can maintain our security of supply while succeeding with the green conversion. We already have some of the solutions, while others have not been sufficiently demonstrated yet. But with the world's best energy system, razor-sharp brains, and a clear goal of independence from fossil fuels, we are well on our way.

What we are missing now is the right profile to lead pivotal technical activities towards a greener gas system. Your new workplace will be at our office in Ballerup with great opportunities to also work from home, and flexibility in relation to the organization of your work.

The Organization and department
You will be part of the Technology Development department in the Gas Transmission business unit. You will be joining a growing team of currently 10 dedicated employees with a broad professional expertise design, commissioning and technical project management. We are especially leading the design of gas infrastructure projects and coordinating efforts spanning from project planning to construction (e.g., pipelines, compressor stations). We are highly client-oriented and provide project management and engineering services to the rest of the Energinet group and collaborate with dedicated colleagues who are supporting us with e.g., permitting and procurement processes.

You will be responsible for leading different green-gases design and project management activities, also including detailed design studies. The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions is a high-priority topic of national importance, and we work to achieve solutions that will realize the full-decarbonization of the energy system. This is a matter of highly interdisciplinary coordination (including technology, regulations, environment, innovation etc.). Therefore, you should expect to work in close collaboration with experts from other parts of the organization as well as other national and international partners.

Job description and ideal candidate
We are looking for highly motivated candidates who want to make a mark on the path towards a greener society.

Your core task is to provide project management support both in relation to new and existing innovative projects, with special focus on hydrogen and CO2 infrastructure. You may lead work tasks from early design (e.g., feasibility & FEED) to detail design, tendering, procurement and construction. You contribute to advisory services linked to preparation of technical reports, proposals related to engineering projects and installation of critical equipment. For some projects Energinet participates as member of a Consortium of different industrial partners, where it is key to coordinate between Energinet’s project side and the overall project ambition. In this regard, the ability to create fruitful stakeholder management is a key quality for the ideal candidate.

You are part of multiple project groups and dynamic teams, where you help to ensure the professional level of the project, and to make decisions based on qualified knowledge and data, regardless of whether you work according to traditional or agile principles.

It is a requirement that you have at least an MSc from relevant engineering education (e.g. Energy, Mechanical, Process/Chemical) and minimum 5-10 years of documented experience with project management working first handed with green gases processing from relevant industries within the chemical, oil & gas, or energy sectors.

In addition to the points mentioned above, practical familiarity within the following technical areas is positively valued:

  • Relevant project management education (e.g., PRINCE II)
  • Experience in PM/design and/or operation activities related to CO2 and/or hydrogen
  • Experience working in international project environments
  • Knowledge of Power-to-X technologies (e.g., methanation, electrolysis), CO2 capture technology, green gas process technology (e.g., compressors)

As a person, you are cooperative, responsible, quality-conscious, and professional. You can find common solutions and adjust your communication for technicians, specialists, suppliers, external partners, and authorities. You work independently and thrive in defining and solving challenges yourself and dealing with demanding issues. Your positive and engaging attitude helps maintain a positive and healthy work culture. Also, you must thus be able to immerse yourself in subject areas in which you continuously improve and update your skills. Curiosity and commitment to learn and develop knowledge within relevant gas topics, that you are not familiar with, is considered of key importance.

Travel activity to Energinet's offices and facilities, e.g., in Fredericia and Egtved can be expected, just as travel abroad in connection with international work also can occur.
