Your role - ensuring products designed for manufacturing
You will be a key person ensuring solid product design in terms of manufacturing and assembly. Your primary role will be to support and challenge front-end innovation on manufacturability and automation in the initial development phases. Based on your extensive experience and knowledge of process development, Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly, your responsibility will also be to facilitate and participate in the maturation process of our production set-up. 

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • ensure - in close cooperation with our Front End R&D team – that new products are designed with regards to Design for Manufacturing/Assembly principles
  • take part in provisioning of prototypes
  • develop new manufacturing processes and document process robustness
  • carry out final specification and implementation of new processes and process equipment for new products according to the business strategy and external requirements
  • coordinate process validation activities in close cooperation with colleagues at our manufacturing sites in China, Malaysia and USA

Your background 
We expect you to hold a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree within mechanical/material engineering or an equivalent background. You need to have more than 5 years of experience within the fields of pilot production, process development and automation of manufacturing processes, which has provided you with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the combination of materials, component design and manufacturing processes.

Furthermore, we expect you to have working experience with verification of product design, manufacturing processes, process optimization, process validation, Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly. Additionally, we expect that you have knowledge of design control in the medical device area.

You will collaborate with many colleagues in various contexts, both locally and globally. Therefore, it is important that you are ready to take ownership of your tasks and that you have the ability to communicate in a positive and constructive manner. To succeed in the position, you need to be firm and stand by your decisions and at the same time be able to turn challenges into opportunities.

It is a requirement that you are fluent in English. In particular, it is important that you communicate on a high level in written English and that you are willing to travel approximately 10-20 days per year.
