Your role - ensuring products designed for manufacturing
You will be the key person ensuring solid product design in terms of manufacturing. Your primary role will be to support and challenge front-end innovation on manufacturability and automation in all development phases. Based on your extensive experience and knowledge of process development, Design for Manufacturing and good understanding of applied statistical methods, your responsibility will also be to facilitate and participate in the maturation process of our production set up. 

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Participate in development projects focusing on Design for Manufacturing and Automation 
  • To ensure solid product design in terms of manufacturing
  • To identify and implement new and robust manufacturing processes 
  • To be an active player in the maturation of our production set up for flexible scopes

Your background 
We expect you to hold a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree within mechanical/material engineering or an equivalent background. Ideally, you have more than 10 years of experience within the fields of pilot production, process development and automation of manufacturing processes, which has provided you with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the combination of materials, component design and manufacturing processes. Preferably, you have a Six Sigma green or black belt and knowledge of design control in the medical device area.

Furthermore, we expect you to have extensive experience of:

  • DoE for Product development projects and process optimization 
  • Tolerance chains
  • Verification of product design and manufacturing processes 
  • Process Optimization and Process Validation
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC)

You will collaborate with many colleagues in various contexts, both locally and globally. Therefore, it is important that you are ready to take ownership of your tasks and that you have the ability to communicate in a positive and constructive manner. To succeed in the position, you need to be firm and stand by your decisions and at the same time be able to turn challenges into opportunities.

It is a requirement that you are fluent in English. In particular, it is important that you communicate on a high level in written English and that you are willing to travel approximately 10-20 days per year.
