Imagine a future where you play a part in technically evaluating and qualifying wind turbines for Ørsted’s new farms which contribute to our vision for green energy

Join us in this role where you’ll perform Technical Due Diligence (TDD) by assessing and mitigating the technical risks of new wind turbines in a team with three to four other specialists. You’ll be working in close contact with the wind turbine supplier(s) in qualifying new turbines for wind farm projects. In addition, you’ll apply your technical skills and turbine knowledge in making analytical models for assessing turbine component performance and expected lifetime.

Welcome to Wind Turbine Components
You’ll be part of a team where you, together with your colleagues, will be technically design responsible for all mechanical and electrical components of the wind turbine. Together with the other teams of Wind Turbine Technology, we support the business throughout the value chain, ranging from technical qualification of new wind turbines, over executing new wind farm projects, until supporting Operations for the lifespan of the turbines.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • analysing and understanding mechanical wind turbine designs
  • assessing technical risks towards on-time delivery, performance, and reliability
  • being in close dialogue with suppliers to both understand their solutions and mitigate risks
  • supporting problem-solving task forces if a mechanical component fails or is non-compliant
  • building analytical models that can help predict the lifetime of mechanical components.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a similar technical background
  • have experience designing or analysing mechanical parts of wind turbines or similar mechanical systems, for example load carrying structures, gearboxes, or bearings, (e.g., using FEA)
  • have analytical skills and can quantify technical risks and report these to stakeholders
  • preferably have good skills in mathematical modelling, simulations, and programming, e.g., MATLAB, Python, or similar
  • can work proactively and are self-driven when working in both small and large teams
  • speak and write English fluently.

Join a global leader in renewable energy
Ørsted is a growing green energy major and global leader in climate action. With us you’ll play a part in driving change towards a green energy future. You’ll grow your talent in a fast-paced and high-growth industry where you have plenty of opportunities to learn and develop through challenging assignments and industry-leading experts. Here you can perform in a friendly work environment based on trust, respect, and collaboration.
