Joining GN Audio at our HQ in Ballerup, Denmark, you will develop world-class Jabra solutions. By balancing scientific research with an end user focus, we develop advanced headsets and headphones to make life sound better for people around the world. You will become part of Mechanical Engineering and join 30 international colleagues located at our Danish HQ and Xiamen and Shenzhen in China.

Translate user requirements into mechanical designs 
As part of cross-functional concepting teams, you will collaborate with R&D partners, industrial designers, hardware engineers, project managers, etc. to mature new products. You will be responsible for the technical solutions and proof of concept during the early design stages, covering all aspects of the mechanical development. Some projects you will follow from initial ideation to final launch, and others you will hand over to the Development team after design verification. 

More specifically, you will:

• Design new products in 3D in CAD with respect to design details, usability, materials, manufacturing requirements, etc. 
• Be responsible for the coordination and verification of the concept, planning, design and execution stages
• Test and validate prototypes and complete risk assessments and design reviews 
• Ensure that we stay on top of technological developments in close collaboration with your colleagues in Mechanical Engineering 

This role will take you travelling 15-20 days a year, primarily to China where you will collaborate with suppliers and colleagues and investigate new technology.

Experienced engineer with solid collaboration skills and a creative mind 
As a person, you are open-minded, creative and ambitious, and you are good at communicating your ideas both verbally and visually. Also, you know how to be realistic in terms of customer needs and manufacturing realities, and you are not afraid to kill your darlings to come up with even better design ideas. You enjoy collaborating with people from different cultures and functions, sharing knowledge and establishing common ground.

Moreover, we imagine that you:

• Hold a BSc or a MSc in mechanical or design engineering
• Ideally have 7+ years of experience within design of plastic parts for medical or electronic consumer devices
• Are a highly experienced 3D CAD user - we use PTC Creo
• Have experience in design for manufacturability and design for assembly 
• Speak and write English fluently
