About the department
The Data Office is a recently established unit in Global IT with a direct link into the Digital, Data and IT Committee (DDICom) but acting as the counterpart for Line of Business. The focus of the Data Office is to detail and execute Novo Nordisk’s Global Data Strategy to unlock the full potential of data across all Line of Business.

Therefore, the Data Office is responsible to develop a Global Data Operating Model, a Global Data Governance framework to support Line of Business with the implementation of data governance as well as Data Foundation capabilities. 

As it’s a new unit, the number of employees is growing continuously aligned to the speed of maturity of the data capabilities within the organisation.

The position
The Senior Global Data Catalog Architect will be a leader in implementing Data Catalog capabilities for Novo Nordisk’s data domains across the organisation to deliver on FAIR data principles for all enterprise data assets. He or she will serve as a trusted advisor for Data Catalog to the Data Office Data partners, enterprise architects, MDM and Data Quality Architects, Solution Architects, key IT & business executives and other stakeholders.

Aditionally, The Senior Global Data Catalog Architect introduces and evolves meta data management capabilities and defines the required standards and policies as well as data taxonomy. Therefore, the position takes over the product owner role for the enterprise data catalog and other data governance solutions and support implementation with internal project teams as well as implementation partners

Overall, the role is transformational due to the responsibility of enabling foundational data management capabilities and related mind-set across Novo Nordisk.

It is expected that the successful candidate will take responsibility for evolving the role in the same speed as the organisation matures.

The position is located in Bagsværd.

Qualifications
To be confident in this role, we believe that you should have:

  • 7-10 years of experience in data management
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise wide projects
  • Experience with the ABInitio Metadata Hub solution
  • Experience with with assessing and implementing enterprise wide Data Catalog tools

As a person, you have a ‘can do’ mind-set required to try out new setups and solutions. You are known for your ability to understand complex technical matters, form an educated opinion and communicate these in a simple way. Fluency in English (Oral and written) is a prerequisite.
